Sasha Sews Saffron ....
Do you have an idol? Someone you admire for their creativity, courage and enthusiasm? Without a doubt, mine is the talented Australian fabric designer, Saffron Craig (and her lovely agents, Kathryn & Jim).
Saffron's fabrics were the first range I purchased to stock my little baby, Fabric Fusion. Her fabrics are vibrant, sweet, artistic and yet so usable!
So you can imagine my thrill and delight when I received an email asking if I could make something to display on a tailor's dummy, for the Saffron Craig fabric booth at the Sydney Quilt & Craft Trade Show! Can I ever! I happily sewed up a full gathered bodice apron, in the new Elk Landscape fabric, and sent it off by Express post.... all the while wishing I could fit in the bag and fly down with it!
But that is what sweet husbands are for -- to offer to mind the kids for 24 hrs, while I book last minute flights to Sydney and show up at the Trade Show, to see my creation displayed! And because I have one of them (a sweet husband, that is), that is what happened!
Here is the proof....
Me, Saffron Craig and "Betsy" - the stunning model showing my apron for all the world to see.

Thank you so much to Kathryn & Saffron for asking me to make this - it is always a pleasure to sew with your fabrics!
Oh, and by the way... I also got a look at the new range of fabrics, coming out in a couple of months.... And they will be in stock at Fabric Fusion as soon as they are available!
