New Supplier - Little Bird Patterns
I love finding a pattern that is quick to sew, easy to follow, and something that I will want to make again and again... and even better when that pattern comes from the talent of a fellow Australian!
So I am thrilled to announce that Fabric Fusion is now stocking patterns by the talented ladies at Little Bird Patterns! LBP is based in Brisbane, and the talent behind the name is 2 sisters, Madonna and Maurgan. I asked Madonna to give us some idea of what makes LBP tick!

Q - I love to sew, but pattern drafting is an amazing talent - how did you learn and start out with pattern drafting?
A - My grandmother was a dressmaker, so sewing, pattern drafting and a general love of craft have always been in my family. My mother used to draft patterns when I was young, I always had clothing that was one of a kind. I studied one year of fashion design, so learnt the basics in my first year.

Q - How do you find ideas for patterns that are fun and look great, but are also super-easy and great for a beginner sew-er?
A - I usually work up an idea for something for my daughters or myself, it is always a great place to start. I am not the greatest sewer in the world, and with 3 little ones, I like to make clothing that is simple and quick, something that I can make in a few hours, when the children are playing quietly. I love all the great fabrics that our now available to the Australian market, and am often inspired by these gorgeous fabrics and textiles.
Q - What do you love about living and working in Brisbane?
A - I love living so close to the beach, we often spend lots of time at the Sunshine Coast. Working from home is particularly easy, we are close to everything, including the children's school, so my day is not taken up lined up in traffic, and travelling around the City. Brisbane has terrific weather (well it can be a little warm in summer) so we can make the most of all these gorgeous light cottons now on the market.
Q - Your clothing and bags are so funky! Do you have a particular favourite fabric designer or range?
A - I love anything 60s inspired - bold, bright yet classic. I tend to use lots of vintage fabrics in my own creations, these classics are definately my favourites.
So if you would like to try one of LBP's fabulous patterns, see the range in stock in the Fabric Fusion shop!
